SVCF’s strategy is focused on three major initiatives: to improve foster youth educational success, high school graduation rates and college readiness, and post-secondary completion. Our 2010 - 2013 goals are focused on the following outcomes:

  • Doubling the number of foster youth in middle school who perform at grade level in literacy, math, and science

  • Ensuring that a minimum of 75% of foster youth graduate from high school prepared for college or vocational training

  • Raising the percentage of foster youth who earn a post secondary degree in Santa Clara County from 3% to 56% (the national average)
