Foster Youth Education Support Seminars for Social Workers
The Children’s Fund in partnership with the Santa Clara County Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS) provides social workers with the tools, resources and information to effectively serve as an educational advocate for our foster youth. Social workers often fill the role of parents in advising and supporting our children who often change schools 10-15 times during their education.
The seminars inform the social workers of the A through G requirements to keep our youth on track for high school graduation, of the testing and resources available for special needs, and the “how to” for transferring timely and accurate student records to their current school.
